Turkey

Our area of Turkey Regarded as the "cradle of civilization" Turkey is a land of treasures, offering an exotic blend of culture, tradition and renowned hospitality. This is coupled with miles and miles of sandy beaches, a fabulous climate, spectacular mountain ranges, ancient sites, hidden gorges and exciting cosmopolitan cities.

It is geographically diverse with snow-capped mountains in the east, lush green valleys and rich fertile agricultural lands in the west and a temperate climate in the north. The Mediterranean coast boasts the spectacular Taurus mountain range stretching from Oludeniz to Adana with its pine clad slopes dropping on to the fine sands and clear waters of the Turquoise Coast, the finest coastline in Turkey.

Few regions can boast such a fascinating history and abundance of archaeological treasures. Visitors to this unique part of the world are left with a memorable impression and a yearning to return again and again to seek out and explore more of the fascinating historical sites, superb beaches and endless breathtaking beauty and to experience again the warmth and hospitality shown by its special people.

One visit to Turkey is never enough!

Altinkum

Ephesus ancient city 80km from AltinkumTurkish for 'golden sands', Altinkum is a popular resort on the Aegean coast between Bodrum and Kusdasi. Attracting a friendly mix of holidaying European families, this resort offers the great blend of safe beach, good nightlife and good value eateries.

Altinkum's wide stretch of sands is among the best in the country. Regularly patrolled by lifeguards, proudly displaying its 'Blue Flags' and bustling with water sports options you'll find it very difficult to spend much time away from here. The beaches are very safe for families with children as the waters are shallow and slope gently, but they are just as appealing to those just wanting to unwind, take it easy and work on their tans. The beach wraps round the picturesque Altinkum Bay forming three beaches, one at either end of the town and the main beach. There are plenty of sun beds and umbrellas for hire at very reasonable rates and many restaurants and markets nearby to supply cooling drinks and snacks.

Altinkum is a lively, intensely Turkish town - full of character and charm, and alive with the sounds of the souk and the bazaar. Shopping, therefore, is a heady rush of colour and chaos and thoroughly enjoyable. Nightlife can be pretty full on, with a great range of bars and clubs, but this resort is firstly family-friendly attracting young families and those who seek good natured cheer rather than all-night raves.

Altinkum is located 200 km south of Turkey´s third largest city, Izmir. It is 73 km from Kusadasi and 110 km from Bodrum. The journey from Bodrum airport will take just over 1 hour and from Izmir airport, 2 hours.

Kusadasi

Property for sale in Kusadasi TurkeyKusadasi is one of the most popular choices for holidays Turkey. A fishing village turned into an attractive resort, its gently sloping beach climbs to the attractive promenade where you will find plenty of shops, bars and cafes.

Ladies Beach is perhaps the most sought after area in Kusadasi. The beach, lined with several bars and restaurants, is ideal for people on holiday and seeking rented accommodation. Value of property here can be around 15% higher than anywhere else in Kusadasi due to the rental opportunities and the rate of increase on the value of individual properties. Clients have discovered it is very easy to sell on property in this area due to high demand and have therefore found a good return on their initial investment. Living here during the winter months is quiet but it is only a short bus ride away from the centre of Kusadasi.

The town centre is ideal for all year round living with plenty of shops, restaurants and weekly markets. The properties, especially in the old town area, are priced very reasonably and in some cases need some restoration. This area would appeal to people who would like to live within the Turkish community.

Marina and Cevre yolu are classed as the residential 'up market' areas of the town, attracting foreign investors and successful entrepreneurs who wish to settle in this area. Kusadasi centre is serviced well by the local transport and for the more energetic is just a pleasant walk away. In the mornings people can be seen jogging along the marina front taking in the pretty scenery and sea air. Quality built apartments tend to be the norm in this location although there are houses for sale as well.

Beach near Kusadasi Turkey Very much an 'up and coming' area for the future is Kustur Beach an area which lends itself to some of the most scenic areas of Kusadasi, only 2 km away. The promenade has a few restaurants open during the summer months and the beach area is relatively quiet during the peak season. The sale of villas is most common in this pretty area.

Long Beach has been very popular for Turkish families who wish to locate their holiday homes close to this sandy beach. Located 4.5 km from Kusadasi town centre this area is increasingly becoming popular with European families who wish to buy their dream holiday home for the summer months. Long Beach has a real 'bucket and spade' feel to it and is ideal for young families and again it is very easy to commute to Kusadasi, approx 15 mins away.

From the traditional hill topped village of Sogucak there are stunning panoramic views of the surrounding areas. Located approx 8kms from Kusadasi and 2kms from the nearest beach, the village is well serviced by local transport. The mountains of the National Park can be viewed from afar as well as the town of Kusadasi and the magnificent coastline of the Aegean sea. Sogucak is far away enough from the 'tourist hotspots' in the peak season but near enough to gain access to the centre of Kusadasi and its beaches.

The small towns of Davutlar & Guzel Camli are approx 15kms away from Kusadasi and set in a very rural location. A further 2kms away you will enter the gates of the National Park opposite the Greek Island of Samos; this beautiful park is a tapestry of colour and ideal for nature lovers and hikers. Four beaches line the forested coastline and boast crystal clear waters. Davutlar town has plenty of shops and Turkish 'lokantas' (restaurants) and is serviced by a large supermarket and local transport. Several popular beaches are nearby and holiday homes are plentiful.

Fethiye

FethiyeOnce a great Lycian city dating back to the 6th Century B.C., traces of the ancient settlement can still be seen. The most magnificent of these is the Temple Tomb of Amytas perched imperiously on the face of the cliff to the east of the old city, as well as many scattered sarcophagi and the ruins of an old castle believed to have been constructed by the Knights of St John. Recent excavations have uncovered an ancient amphitheatre in the heart of the town.

Fethiye also boasts a large marina where many yachts are berthed year round and its waterfront promenade is dotted with cafes and seafood restaurants. The town's pavements are lined with shops galore and the maze of little side streets offers many hidden treasures.

As it is the area's main market town you will find all the facilities you will need including banks, exchange offices, a main post office, chemists and supermarkets. A visit to the local market held on Tuesday is an opportunity to pick up a bargain not to be missed!

In summary, Fethiye offers a great combination of ancient sites and modern convenience and as a result is a highly sought after location for home buyers.

Calis Calis: The nearest beach to Fethiye is just a couple of kilometres to the north in the small beach resort of Calis. The resort has a relaxing feel with a seemingly endless stretch of un-crowded sand and shingle beach, gently cooled by sea breezes and perfect for laying back and soaking up the sun.

The resort's pedestrianised promenade provides a good choice of beach front restaurants, bars and cafes and you can take a regular water taxi ride across the bay into Fethiye.

With excellent letting potential, Calis has become one of the main areas for British buyers who find it a very friendly community in which to reside.

HisaronuHisaronu & Ovacik: On the road between Fethiye and Oludeniz, the resort villages of Hisaronu and Ovacik are located on a plateau around 1,000 feet above sea level under Mount Babadag (Father Mountain). About 7km from Fethiye and 4km from the famous lagoon and beach at Oludeniz, they are set away from the coast amongst pine and almond forests and benefit from a cooling breeze coming up from the sea in the summer months. The mountain views are magnificent all year round.

Both villages offer a good choice of bars, restaurants and cafes and excellent opportunities for overseas property buyers. Local dolmus (mini bus) services run at regular intervals during the summer months into Fethiye and to the beach and lagoon at Oludeniz.

OludenizOludeniz: One of Turkey's most famous and most photographed beaches, with tempting sand, crystal clear turquoise waters and gentle lapping waves. Mother nature's finishing touch was to surround this "heaven on earth" with a spectacular mountain and pine forest backdrop. At the far end of the beach is an idyllic lagoon set inside a national park area. Not visible from the open sea the lagoon is very sheltered with still, warm waters, absolutely perfect for those looking for a bit of escapism!

There are numerous water sport options from the beach and in the summer months the skies above are filled with Para gliders falling gently from the cliff top towards the beach below.

The resort itself, one of the most acclaimed in Turkey, is low rise and spreads back gently up the mountain. It offers a great choice of international and Turkish restaurants, bars, shops and hotels.
